Smart Grid Transformation in the Power Distribution Sector
ETP’s technical assistance for this project takes a holistic approach to the smart grid transformation of the distribution sector and has contributed to the deployment of renewable energy through embedded generation. The project will identify key issues and propose solutions for smart grid adoption in power distribution, aligning with the Philippines Smart Grid Policy Framework. Furthermore, it will deliver a financing framework with investment options for Electric Cooperatives to upgrade their smart grids. To ensure the sustainability of the project’s outputs and promote replication for future asset management, capacity-building initiatives have been integrated. Ultimately, the project aims to demonstrate smart grid transformation with increased renewable energy adoption and enable demand-side management.
