The project supports the development of RENSTRA, the 2025-2029 Mid-Term Strategic Plan for the Directorate General (DG) of News, Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation (NREEC) of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR). This is in order to ensure that the RENSTRA aligns with Indonesia’s national development priorities under the country’s Medium-Term National Development Plan (RPJMN) and other international commitments.

By outlining clear policy directions, performance target and regulatory frameworks, RENSTRA will serve as a roadmap and guide the DG to implement policies and programmes that can advance renewable energy, energy conservation and the country’s broader energy transition agenda. RENSTRA is expected to play a critical role in Indonesia’s transition towards a low-carbon energy system, supporting national energy security and contributing to the country’s GHG emissions reduction goals.
