ETP worked with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR) in supporting the development of an Energy Efficiency (EE) Investment Roadmap to help the country achieve its enhanced Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) target of reducing 132 million tons of CO? emissions from energy efficiency by 2030. This target represents 37% of the total emission reduction expected from the energy sector. The roadmap will outline concrete investment plans, policy frameworks, and financing strategies for energy efficiency interventions across key sectors, including HVAC in commercial buildings, industrial energy management, efficient appliances, electric vehicles, efficient street lighting, and measures to improve generation efficiency and reduce grid losses. It will also assess the transition of coal-fired power plants to natural gas. The roadmap will serve as an official government document to be showcased at COP28, aiming to attract investment and international support.
