Asia and the Pacific Project

Regional

The ASEAN School of Regulation

ETP is working with the ASEAN Secretariat and the United Nations Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) to create an ASEAN School of Regulation. This new school will provide technical assistance to energy regulators in the region, helping them develop the skills and knowledge needed to support the energy transition and facilitate cross-border power trade under the ASEAN Power Grid initiative.

The project is moving forward with a three-part approach:

  • Needs Assessment to identify the specific challenges and skill gaps of ASEAN regulators.
  • A Pilot Summer School to test and refine the curriculum.
  • A Sustainable Concept Proposal to ensure the school’s long-term viability.

The school is committed to fostering gender equality and social inclusion while also promoting a collaborative learning environment that will enable regulators to share knowledge, address emerging energy challenges, and build more sustainable energy systems.
