Supporting Medium-term National Development Planning (RPJMN) 2025 – 2029 Background Study Indonesia

General Energy Transition Consultancy Services in Indonesia

To support Indonesia’s commitment to achieving net zero emissions by 2060 or sooner, this project provides a background study for the Ministry of National Development Planning (BAPPENAS) to inform the 2025–2029 National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN). The study will deliver evidence-based prioritisation of energy transition activities by assessing major renewable energy projects, identifying regulatory and financing needs, and mapping capacity gaps. It aims to ensure that Indonesia’s emission reduction targets align with its NZE roadmap by offering strategic recommendations for mainstreaming renewable energy, energy efficiency, and coal transition efforts into the country’s development agenda. The outputs will help accelerate the low-carbon economy, strengthen integrated energy management, improve infrastructure, promote new technologies, and create green jobs and investment opportunities, serving as a key reference for ministries, agencies, private sector actors, and other stakeholders.
