To support Indonesia’s path to Net Zero Emissions (NZE), the Government of Indonesia introduced Government Regulation No. 33 of 2023 on Energy Conservation, establishing a comprehensive framework to optimise energy use and improve efficiency. Recognising energy conservation as a foundational element of the energy transition, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR), this project supports MEMR’s efforts by evaluating the required derivative/ sub-ordinate regulations (Ministry regulation), coordinating with development partners, and ensuring aligned contributions to implement the regulation effectively. It aims to enhance the governance and operationalisation of energy conservation policies to help achieve national energy and climate goals.
