Regional

nergy Transition Thematic Report – Southeast Asia Energy Transition Stocktake

To successfully advance Southeast Asia’s energy transition, a supportive policy environment and collaborative efforts must be built upon a foundation of solid evidence and analysis. As the region transforms its energy systems and institutions, updated information and new perspectives that can shape effective strategies are vital for policy makers and investors.
The project will produce a stock-take report providing key insights about Southeast Asia’s progress towards reaching sustainable energy goals, through a targeted analysis of complex energy transition issues. The report will focus on three key countries – Indonesia, the Philippines and Vietnam – to summarize the status of the countries’ energy transitions, including targets, milestones and challenges. By analysing critical energy transition issues, the report aims to fill knowledge gaps, broaden stakeholder engagement and identify high-impact areas for future development efforts. This will also help identify high-impact intervention areas, to increase engagement and draw in stakeholders from sectors that aren’t typically involved in the energy transition discourse.
The report will be developed as a resource for policymakers and investors, seeking to create effective energy strategies and are interested in understanding the energy transition in Southeast Asia.
