Sharing of Perspectives to Advance Regional Knowledge on Energy Transition in Southeast Asia (SPARK)

The Sharing of Perspectives to Advance Regional Knowledge on Energy Transition in Southeast Asia, otherwise known as the ‘SPARK’ project aims to addresses the critical need for tailored support in Southeast Asia; a region balancing rapid economic growth with the urgent integration of sustainable energy solutions.

The project will provide a platform for high-level policymakers and experts to engage in targeted peer-to-peer and expert exchanges. The confidential setting of the project allows for in-depth discussions on sensitive and complex issues related to energy transition, fostering candid dialogue and innovative solutions without the constraints of public forums. Through this, SPARK aims to equip policymakers with enhanced knowledge and strategic insights into available options for their respective countries and drive effective and informed energy transition strategies, leading to a sustainable and resilient energy future for Southeast Asia.

For its inauguration, SPARK will focus on energy transition financing and investment, delivering two regional policy dialogue events on ‘carbon pricing’ and ‘coal phase-down financing’, followed by policy briefs and a synthesis report summarizing key takeaways.
