ETP attends the 20th Asia Clean Energy Forum 2025

The 20th Asia Clean Energy Forum (ACEF) recently convened at the Asian Development Bank (ADB) headquarters in Manila, Philippines under the theme ‘Empowering the Future’. This year’s thematic focus was on clean energy innovations, regional cooperation and integration and financing solutions; elements which directly correlate to ETP’s growing priorities. Our senior management team was present and was pleased to have the opportunity to share ETP’s experience and expertise at the forum.

ETP’s Senior Programme Manager for Regional Programmes, Adritha Subbiah, moderated a session on ‘Advancing Renewable Energy Integration’. She guided panelists through a discussion on how countries utilize energy storage, digital solutions and advanced modeling tools to ensure both reliable and flexible RE integration. Case studies presented during the panel included Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) integration in Uzbekistan, energy storage innovations in Sarawak (Malaysia) and approaches to design 24/7 RE supply in Indian industries.

ETP’s Senior Programme Manager, John Cotton contributed to a session on Flexible and Distributed Power Systems. The session highlighted scaling-up renewable energy infrastructure, modernizing grids and securing financing solutions, and brought together experts from the region and the UK to discuss key policy, technical innovations and investment strategies. Mr Cotton delivered the closing remarks, synthesizing the session’s key discussion points and drawing attention to potential areas for public-private collaboration.

ETP’s Senior Programme Officer (Regional team), Maria Fritzie Reyes Vergel, spoke at the workshop emphasizing the critical role of battery energy storage systems (BESS) in the energy transition. She highlighted the value of opening markets for the different BESS services to encourage private-sector investments. The sessions highlighted challenges and different BESS initiatives focusing on Accelerating Battery Energy Storage System Development in the Asia and Pacific Region, and the new ENABLE Platform for energy storage.

ETP’s long-standing engagement with ACEF, continues to demonstrate our commitment to advancing clean energy solutions and nurture collaborations across the Southeast Asia region.
