Our work is guided by the SEA ETP Steering Committee formed of multiple funding partners who provide strategic leadership and oversight, and approve SEA ETP technical assistance projects.
SEA ETP Secretariat implements our projects, coordinates with aligned programmes and conducts dialogues with the energy transition partners and stakeholders to encourage the integration of renewable energy into the energy mix in Southeast Asia. The Secretariat is also fully responsible for daily management and operation of the SEA ETP Programme, and supports the SEA ETP Steering Committee.
The work of the Secretariat and Steering Committee is supported by an Advisory Panel created of energy exports providing strategic and programmatic advice to ensure successful implementation of the programme. Our country partners are internationally acknowledged as leaders and subject-matter experts in areas such as policy, economics, finance, energy or other cross-cutting themes.
Acting as intermediary, UNOPS hosts SEA ETP Secretariat, and provides financial management, procurement and human resource services to implement the programme in accordance with SEA ETP’s strategy, multi-year and annual work plans and budgets as well as UNOPS rules and regulations and legislative framework.
To mitigate the global impacts of climate change and deliver on the 2030 Agenda, partnership and collaboration are critical. SEA ETP aims to engage in collaborative multi-stakeholder partnerships to combine financial and technical resources, coordinate ongoing programmes in the region, lead dialogues with energy experts and expand knowledge to boost leadership and financing for energy transition.
We work with a variety of partners, from the UN family to governments, philanthropies, private sector, utilities, educational institutions, think tanks and civil society to advance climate action.
The multi-donor partnership foresees further growth and the members of SEA ETP invite interested donors to join the initiative to achieve a greater impact through accelerated energy transition in the Southeast Asian region.
Under SEA ETP, partners can align existing energy programmes with SEA ETP strategy and country work plans, which are jointly delivered. The programmes are under the oversight of SEA ETP Secretariat, ensuring shared goals are being pursued and actions jointly implemented:
In each country of implementation, we work with partners – local experts, who are part of the Advisory Panel and provide strategic advice to the SEA ETP Steering Committee on local political-economic realities, priorities and focus areas to ensure efficient implementation of the programmes. Our country partners are internationally acknowledged as leaders and subject-matter experts in areas such as policy, economics, finance, energy or other cross-cutting themes.
