ETP Secretariat implements our projects, coordinates with aligned programmes and conducts dialogues with the energy transition partners and stakeholders to encourage the integration of renewable energy into the energy mix in Southeast Asia. The Secretariat is also fully responsible for daily management and operation of the ETP Programme, and supports the ETP Steering Committee.
The work of the Secretariat and Steering Committee is supported by an Advisory Panel created of energy exports providing strategic and programmatic advice to ensure successful implementation of the programme. Our country partners are internationally acknowledged as leaders and subject-matter experts in areas such as policy, economics, finance, energy or other cross-cutting themes.
Acting as intermediary, UNOPS hosts ETP Secretariat, and provides financial management, procurement and human resource services to implement the programme in accordance with ETP’s strategy, multi-year and annual work plans and budgets as well as UNOPS rules and regulations and legislative framework.
To mitigate the global impacts of climate change and deliver on the 2030 Agenda, partnership and collaboration are critical. ETP engages in collaborative multi-stakeholder partnerships to combine financial and technical resources, coordinate ongoing programmes in the region, lead dialogues with energy experts and expand knowledge to boost leadership and financing for energy transition.
We work with a variety of partners, from the UN family to governments, philanthropies, private sector, utilities, educational institutions, think tanks and civil society to advance climate action.
In each country of implementation, we work with partners – local experts, who are part of the Advisory Panel and provide strategic advice to the ETP Steering Committee on local political-economic realities, priorities and focus areas to ensure efficient implementation of the programmes. Our country partners are internationally acknowledged as leaders and subject-matter experts in areas such as policy, economics, finance, energy or other cross-cutting themes.
